Monthly Round Up

September started with us attending Burghley Horse Trials. We left Devon not really knowing what to expect and it really felt like an adventure. After arriving and setting up on the Tuesday we had time on the Wednesday to walk the cross country course and we even managed to sit down watch the first trot-up inspection.

It was a huge success for us, it was lovely to be able to greet so many visitors and we made new friends along the way. We really hope to be invited back next year (fingers and hooves crossed!). The Dartmoor is proving to be popular especially as the weather has turned autumnal with the return of wind, rain and mud and the feedback has been amazing.

August was spent getting prepared for LRBHT and making the final touches and naming our new weatherproof coverall. We chose the name Dartmoor , it fitted with being an all-weather garment and living on the fringes of Dartmoor, we certainly get all types of weather.

In mid August we took delivery of the very first 3 Donkeys® Dartmoor Riding Coverall and with just two weeks to spare until Burghley, a quick trip up the M5 to Taunton was made with our photographer. We met up with the lovely Gem (who also helped with trials) and her beautiful horse Con, for a photoshoot and the weather was glorious which made for some beautiful images.

July started well for us with our 2into1 coveralls making their debut at this years Glastonbury Festival and they looked amazing!

The weather here in Devon was just glorious with long days and warm evenings. The development of our new Riding Coveralls (they were yet to be named) was moving on at a rapid pace with the materials being chosen and final design decisions being made. We chose to use weatherproof Ventile® Cotton (www.ventile.co.uk) because of its durability, hardwearing and ease of care. It also has the most amazing heritage and is a slow fashion fabric, making it more environmentally friendly.
